Our 330 acre facility allows the start-up process to be handled with ease. The KatieRich Farms reputable and knowledgeable team ensures the process establishes trust and understanding between the horse and the staff.
The start-up process can be challenging if not overwhelming. Our approach is to think of yearlings of being wide eyed kindergardners going to school for the first time. The start-up process is built on trust and working in concert towards a goal. Horses and staff are invested and enjoy the process. At KatieRich we went as far as to specifically design our training barn for lay-ups and the start-up process.
KatieRich prides itself on using many natural horseman techniques. Mark Hubley, Farm President worked alongside Monty Roberts the foremost in that field. Our approach shows with our horses as guests who visit KatieRich see the horse’s level of comfort and friendliness around humans.
RACE PREPARATION & RACING
Horse racing is an elegant and historic experience. With our Rice Road division at Keeneland we have successful raced client horses throughout the United States.
With our barn at the Keeneland Rice Road division we offer year-round race preparation. The racing preparation process begins when the yearlings have completed the start-up process. They are shipped to Keeneland where they begin the training phase on the race track. Keeneland Race Track is a world class facility which conducts top end racing in the spring and the fall. We have prepped client 2 year olds at Keeneland through the breezing process and have sent them to trainers with gate approval, virtually ready to run.
When it comes to racing there is no turnkey solution, it takes months of hard work and commitment to race a winning horse. All our horses receive the same immaculate attention from our top tier staff. Horses that have gone through our program have raced successfully at Santa Anita Park, Delmar, Belmont, Saratoga, Woodbine, etc.
SALES PREPARATION & REPRESENTATION
Preparing a horse for sale and selling a horse are daunting tasks. The KatieRich family takes the headaches out of the selling process.
We give the same attention to detail and an individual approach to sales preparation as we do the start-up process. Special attention is paid to conformation, feeding, and physical development of weanlings and yearlings. We have sold to high end purchasers from the United States and Europe. The KatieRich brand is synonymous with integrity, quality, and horsemanship. Our professional team handles all the details so that you can enjoy the sale of your horse.

BOARDING
KatieRich Farms was designed with our horses in mind resulting in a premium boarding experience.
When KatieRich Farms was acquired, the Doyle’s desired to have a place where they would be comfortable keeping their most elite horses. In addition to lay-ups, start-ups, sales prep, and sales representation, KatieRich boards mares for outside clients. Ours is one of the few farms where mares are groomed regularly and feet picked daily. The same level of care applies to foals. It is an aberration if a problem goes undetected early on. Leave your horse with the KatieRich team knowing it will be treated as one of our own. Our 330 acre farm in Midway, Kentucky offers all the amenities you would expect from a horse farm of our caliber. We are also centrally located ensuring that all your North American equine needs are met with ease.
